How to Build a Winning Team

Join us for breakfast and learn how to build a winning team.

The SCBWN is thrilled to announce the guest speakers for our How to Build a Winning Team breakfast is the CEO, Chris Flannery and Coach, Eric Smith as well as a current player from the Sunshine Coast Falcons Rugby League team.

We will show how the lessons learnt on the football field to build, develop and maintain this “top of the ladder” team translates perfectly to the boardroom!

After coming off a number of years where the tables were turned and their recent winning streak only existed in their imaginations, we will explore the different roles that the CEO, Coach and Player have to play in order to work together to turn their team around and experience their recent 14 straight game win.

At this breakfast we are going to uncover how to make the (sometimes unpopular) decisions necessary of the CEO or business owner, look at how building culture in your team is hugely important for your success, and what it takes to keep your team as one strong unit.

We will explore:

- The different roles within a team

- Team behaviour and cohesion

- Key aspects to focus on for team results

- How to turn around a negative situation or atmosphere

We will also ask former Origin Player and SC Falcons CEO, Chris Flannery about the key techniques to build a team that is expected to deliver results immediately. Chris will draw on his State of Origin days where the team comes together only three times a year, with players from different clubs and some of which are from ‘enemy’ teams, and are under the intense public pressure to win, despite having only just formed.

This topic will apply to small teams, large teams, casual work environments, community groups, or flex teams. The SCBWN is an all-inclusive environment and we welcome all genders.

Event Bookings Close and Dietary requirements due - Monday 15th of July.
